Congratulations
to the boys and girls cross country teams for their performances at the state championships over the weekend. The boys ran one of their best team races of the year and placed 12th in a very strong field. They were led once again by Michael Machado in 24th running 16:16. The time moves him into 4th all-time for NMC behind Nathan Huerta, Keli
Parker, and Jose Garcia. Super sophomore Miguel Gallegos was next in 60th
at 16:47, Miguel Camarena was 68th at 16:50, Manuel Esparza was 102nd at 17:09 and Jesus Ayala was 110th
at 17:12. The boys’ team time is 4th all-time for NMC.
The
lady Condors also ran a great team race to place 14th and were led by Jovita Trujillo in 16th at 19:02,
Nadine Huerta in 65th at 19:51, Stephanie Pritchard in 87th at 20:13, Adilene Ruvalcaba in 112th
at 20:23, and Zaira Guzman in 144th at 21:14. The girls’ team
time is 2nd all-time for NMC!

Congratulations to the teams for qualifying to the STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS!
The ladies will make their 2nd trip to state in a row and their 3rd overall and the
guys will make their 6th appearance in a row and their 9th overall!
The ladies placed 3rd and ran a school record for the course and the guys placed 4th and ran the 3rd fastest team time ever on the course in very competitive CCS DIII races to qualify. They were led by ALL-CCS placers Jovita Trujillo
(5th) and Michael Machado (6th).

to Cross Country teams for sweeping the individual and team titles at the 2007 MBL Championships! All six divisions finished the season undefeated and were led by the Varsity Boys winning a 17th League
Title and their 6th in a row and the Varsity Girls winning a 15th League Title and their 7th in a row!!
Michael Machado and Jovita Trujillo also
defended their individual titles!
The Frosh/Soph and JV Boys and Girls also won and the JV Boys pulled off the rare race
sweep. Those races were won by Zach Wilhelm, Alexis Romero, Alyssa Pierce, and
Sandy Narez!!!
Congratulations Condors and good luck to the Varsity squads as they take a shot at CCS titles in 2 weeks at
Crystal Springs.

Congratulations to the cross country teams for the great performances at the Mt SAC invite
in Los Angeles over the weekend. The boys ran their best team race in a few years
to place 4th in their race and only 1 point out of 3rd while beating several top 10 state ranked teams.
Michael Machado stole the show winning the race in a fantastic 15:28 making him the 2nd fastest Condor ever on
that course and only 4 seconds off of Nathan Huerta’s school record. Manuel
Esparza ran the best race of his life to medal in 15:57. The lady Condors ran
great to place 7th and were led by medalist Jovita Trujillo in 19:46 and Nadine Huerta in 20:05.
The JV Boys won their race and had the fastest JV team at the meet. Alexis Romero and
Zach Wilhelm stole the show there going 1-2. The JV girls also ran well and were
led by Emilse Tapia.
Congrats Condors and good luck as you prepare to defend your MBL Titles this Saturday at Toro Park!

Alumni Danny Tapia rolls to a 1:10 Half Marathon in San Jose!
He averaged a 5:24 mile for 13.1 miles!
That's faster than he ran 3 miles in HS!

The team continued its dominance in the Monterey Bay League by sweeping all
divisions at the 2nd MBL Center Meet at "The Beach" (Seaside).

Congratulations to the cross country teams for their fine performances at the Stanford Invitational. The varsity boys placed 5th in their race and beat 4 teams currently ranked
in the top 10 in the state. Michael Machado and Antonio Dorado ran side by side
and placed 18th and 19th. The lady condors were led once
again by Jovita Trujillo in 28th and placed 16th as a team. The
JV boys ran great to place 4th in their race and were led by Alexis Romero in 14th. And, the JV girls
placed 11th and were led by Alyssa Pierce in 23rd. Congrats
Condors!

Doug Owen and Madera Invites!

Congratulations
to the cross country teams for their exciting weekend. The boys and girls varsity
teams ventured out to Utah to run in the Doug Owen Memorial race honoring Coach Ibarra’s high school coach. The teams shined with the boys winning the race and the girls placing 2nd. Antonio Dorado led the Condors winning the race and setting a new course record. Michael Machado was 3rd overall. The girls were led once again by Jovita Trujillo in 2nd. The trip highlights included a BYU vs. Air Force football game, a ride down the 65
MPH bobsled run at the site of the 2002 Olympic Winter Games, and a visit to the “This is the Place” state historical
site. While the varsity was in Utah the Frosh/Soph and JV runners ran at the
Madera Invitational and came away with two team wins in the Frosh/Soph boys and girls division. Miguel Gallegos ran the best race of his young career to win the race.

Woodbridge, Chieftain, and 1st MBL Center Meet!
Last Saturday the JV & FS ran at Chieftain while the Boys and Girls Varsity returned to
the "night of speed" at Woodbridge and burned up the course!! And Monday, the teams began their league defense with 30
wins and 0 losses against league foes in dual meet scoring!
The highlight had to be Michael Machado and Antonio Dorado running 15:01 and 15:02 at Woodbridge
moving them to #2 and #3 all-time at NMC! Jesus, Miguel and Manuel all ran 16:00 or faster and helped the team to a
77:57 team time good for 2nd all-time at NMC and only a couple of ticks off the 2003 squad that went on to place 4th at
state and faster than the 2004 squad that placed 2nd at state!!

Congratulations to the teams for hosting the great Earlybird
Invitational over the weekend at Toro Park. Over 60 schools and 2000 runners
participated in the 13th Annual meet and the Condors put on a great show.
The boys’ highlights included a team victory in the senior boys race. The
team had won the race last year and successfully defended their title. Michael Machado led them in 5th running
a fantastic 16:00 race. Antonio Dorado also ran very well at 16:32. Super sophomores Jovita Trujillo and Nadine Huerta along with senior leader Adilene Ruvalcaba led the lady
condors. Jovita was 2nd in the sophomore race running a great 19:44. Nadine was 6th in 20:08. Adilene
was 5th in her race at 20:24. In the overall team standings the lady
condors were 4th out of 60 schools!
Congrats Condors and good luck this weekend at the Chieftain
Invitational and the Woodbridge Invitational in Los Angeles.

While the Varsity boys trained through, the rest of the team went and had some
fun at the TORO TEAMBUILDER!
The Varsity Girls won the meet, the Varsity Boys (really JV Boys) were 2nd,
the FS Boys 3rd, and the FS Girls and JV Boys 4th!!

8/23/07 The team had a great time in the Sunset in the Park run at Toro Park
and were led by Antonio Dorado in the 2.2 mile race in 11:28!

The guys come in ranked 1st in CCS and
the ladies 2nd!
The Varsity boys went to Yosemite and Mammoth for a week and had the time of
their lives running twice a day at over 8,000 feet elevation!
The last run was up Mammoth Mountain at over 11,000 feet!
Some highlights included a bear in our camp, water polo at the pool, team campfire
meetings, soccer and frisbee at the park, dinner and a movie, swimming in freezing lakes, diving into a huge waterfall,
team shower in hot springs, etc.!
