Congrats to Michael Machado
as he had a great time in North Carolina at the Nationals! He ran the 5000 meter and placed 10th overall in the country
at 15:21! He came back two days later and ran a great 6:20 2000 meter steeplechase good for 13th overall and 5th in
his heat! His time was only 5 seconds off of our very own Nathan
Huerta's CCS record of 6:15!The highlight of the meet came in the 2
mile as German Fernandez, whom Michael had the pleasure of hanging out with, ran an incredible 8:34 for a new national record!

Congrats to Darryl Faust for wrapping up his career at the CA state meet.
He jumped over 45 feet in the triple jump.
The meet was simply incredible with an AMAZING double from German Fernandez
running 4:00 in the 1600 and 8:34 3200!!
Christine Babcock runs 4:33 1600 and Jordan Hasay and Chetelat run 9:52 for
3200! WOW!!!

CCS CHAMPION TRIPLE JUMP DARRYL FAUST 45'8"!!!
CCS 3RD HIGH JUMP DARRYL FAUST 6'6"!!
CCS 7TH 3200 MICHAEL MACHADO 9:17!
What a night! Darryl kicks off the action with a 3rd place 6'6" jump and
punched his ticket to state early on. He then followed it up by winning the triple jump by one inch going 45'8"!
Then, in the race of the night, Michael Machado does much of the pace setting for a fast chase pack and is rewared with a
9:17! The time moves him to #2 All-Time at NMC behind Nathan Huerta's 9:08 and qualifies him to the Golden West and the Nike Outdoor Nationals meet!

Frosh/Soph Boys and Girls are Monterey Bay League Champions!
The Boys win an incredible 20th title and Girls win an 8th title!!!
The Varsity Boys and Girls suffered a heartbreaking end to their league championship
streaks by 2 points (girls) and 7 points (boys).

Congratulations to the great efforts at the Alisal Festival including
the Girl's Varsity win and a runner-up effort for the Varsity Guys!
The highlight was Michael Machado's 2 mile as he almost won the Top 8 meet placing
2nd in 9:31 and running the 6th fastest time ever at NMC and Jovita Trujillo improving her school record mile to 5:14!
At Kearney the highlight was a 3rd place Varsity Boys finish only 2 points out
of 1st!

Wow!
Michael Machado runs huge PR in the 5000 with a 15:19 good enough for 8th place and is part
of a historic race as Chris Derrick from Illinois rolls to a 13:55! The time is the fastest time ever by a
high schooler in a high school only race! Click here for a great race video! (Michael is wearing a black singlet with white on the side)
And, Darryl Faust leaps to a 46' 9" triple jump moving him within less than an inch of the school
record as he won the day portion of the jumps!

in the Varsity Girls, FS Boys, and FS Girls with a narrow 67-69 loss in the Varsity Boys division. Check out the

for the Dream" indoor meet in Fresno.
He ran the high school 2 mile during the professional portion of the meet and
ran a fine 9:59 for 4th place on his first try indoors!
