Michael Machado donations

Hi, I’m a senior at North Monterey County High School in Castroville.  I’m also a member of the very succesful track team.  I’m a four time Monterey Bay League Champion, two of which were in track and two in cross country, and I’m also an All-Central Coast Section 1st team member in cross country.  I’ve also been the head captain of the cross country and track teams and I have over a 4.0 GPA.

On May 23rd, at the Central Coast Section finals, I ran a 9:17 two-mile.  It was a personal record, 2nd fastest all-time performance in school history, and under the qualifying standard for Nationals.

Now, I’m looking forward to the 2008 Nike Outdoor Nationals meet in Greensboro, North Carolina.  This is a very special meet that will give me the opportunity to run against some of the best runners from the United States. One of my motivations for running at Nationals is to run a fast enough time to potentially earn a scholarship for college. My goal for this meet is to run faster than 15 minutes for the 5 kilometer distance and to break the CCS record in the steeplechase.

In order to go, I need to raise $800 for my airline ticket, hotel, and a rental car and another $200 for spending money and food. I’m currently trying to raise the funds and I would greatly appreciate any donation that you may be able to help me with.  Any amount will really help the total.

If you’d like to write a check, please make it out to Michael Machado.  Your donations are tax deductible. Please send donations to 9200 Canyon Oak Rd. Salinas, CA 93907.  If you have any questions, please call me at 831-632-0255.

Thank you so much for your help!

Sincerely,

Michael Machado
